It's an excellent idea to support ex-offenders with a tax break for employers who will hire them since many of the nonviolent offenders that this is targeted to assist shouldn't have never been in jail or prison anyway. No one talks about premeditated attacks upon the AA and Hispanic communities by the so-called "War on Drugs" designed specifically to disenfranchise these communities. We should take note of the candidates for Sheriff, Mayor and DA that oppose this pratical legislation and not vote for them! Kudos to Supervisor Mirkirimi for having the guts to propose this legislation!
