booze.jpgSix San Francisco Police Department officers will be ditching four wheels for two this Labor Day weekend, keeping on the lookout for inebriated drivers.

The SFPD announced in a released statement that a six-officer motorcycle squad will be patrolling the alleys and avenues of San Francisco this Friday, September 3 from 7pm to 3am to pull over and cite motorists who have open containers of alcohol or other drug paraphernalia in their cars and are otherwise exhibiting behavior that would indicate that they are driving under the influence.

"We can ride right up beside you and look in your car window," said Sergeant Neil Swendsen of SFPD's Traffic Company. "Keep any open bottle of alcohol in the trunk. It's illegal to have them in the passenger compartment and we'll certainly write you up for that."

In other words, take a tip from Paris Hilton of what not to do--put away your pot and stash your cocaine (ahem--sorry, I meant "gum") in a safer place than your purse, okay?
