Minor correction: pedestrians have the right of way at crosswalks BUT they still have to enter the crosswalk with due care for their own safety, and can't unduly impede or stop traffic while they're crossing (sez Vehicle Code section 21950(b).) I wonder if the SFPD's entrapment decoys are going to follow those rules, or if they're just going to waltz into approaching traffic at the last minute like they usually do.

(And no, I've never been cited for failure to yield, and I've never hit anyone, and I don't want to. So everyone can please save the nasty assumptions for SFGate, kthxbai.)

Wasn't there a video of a pedestrian sting where the plainclothes guy was waiting to walk into the crosswalk until the cars got close enough that they would have to make a pretty sudden stop to avoid him? I remember seeing it and wondering what would happen if he caused an accident.
