This is what happens when you elect people who are simply not qualified to serve as as Supervisor. They come up with bullshit fees like this because they simply do not understand how basic economics work, and listen to bullshit from the Marin Institute, which is a bullshit organization to begin with.

Well I guess we know what Greg's favorite word of the day is. He seems as irrational as the bar and restaurant owners who think they will lose their customers if prices must go up. Come on folks, have a little faith (and find yourselves a more articulate spokesperson).
We loyal drinkers will never abandon our favorite SF watering holes just because we have to pay a nickel, dime, quarter or more for a drink. That is a ridiculous argument for dismissing what seems to be a very sound public health policy. How about we promise to keep ponying up to the bar if you purveyors pony up to pay a fair share of the harm? Because I don't mind paying a little more if it helps us treat those with alcohol-related problems and prevents others from developing problems. It's not just the drunks on the street who need help. There are many, many more dealing with alcohol-related problems that are not so visible who will benefit from the services the fee will support. Who knows, maybe even Greg could develop better reading and vocabulary skills with a little help.
