What happened to SF being all about PT first?
On one hand they say new housing developments can only have like 1.5 parking spots per unit (to "encourage" PT) and on the other hand they say parking meters should be free on Sunday so as to not discourage people from visiting area businesses.
I'm sure some people will refuse to park at a meter on Sunday if they have to pay, but the bottom line is that there will be someone right behind them willing to pay. And the one refusing to pay will walk a little further to their boutique shop/restaurant or take a cab/PT.
I'd rather voluntarily pay at a meter on an occasional Sunday then be forced to make up the shortfall through more fees and/or taxes, etc.
