However, SFMTA spokesperson Paul Rose disputes the 311 operator's characterization, saying that as of 2PM today there have been no reported or expected delays related to the heat.

a ton of folks were hell of late this morning because one of the busses on the 48 broke down, leaving a 30+ minute gap in service (with the usual results..the bus that finally did show up was full beyond capacity and doing the route at half speed becuase it takes forever to board/de-board when there's not even standing room and people are trying to push through.)

i suppose it's possible that it didn't break down specifically because of the heat, so he could technically be telling the truth. or maybe the issues weren't reported... who knows? having your commute randomly take twice as long as it should is not uncommon on muni no matter what the weather is like :)

Muni's hardware isn't nearly as susceptible to heat/rain as BART's is. But Muni doesn't need weather extremes to have significant delays anyway.
