Glad someone cares! I reported my bike theft to a very disinterested SFPD. Didn't want the serial number, didn't want to see a picture of the bike. Never heard a thing back. Sure the same thing happened when my car was stolen, but the bike was a bigger waste of time.
I hope they do this wide-spread and on-going, and maybe next time not broadcast dates and locations - if I was a bike thief i'd take a break and work Oakland for a month or so.

Is there a bike equivalent of LoJack out there somewhere? Seems like that would be of help - kinda like if your iphone gets stolen you can use the GPS to find it.
