It may be worth noting that in Daly City, you WILL get a warning left on your car after three days.

One more very important fun fact: If someone wants to buy a permit for a parking space (for a party or move-in truck) the sign for the space goes up 24 hours before the date they need it. After that it can and will get towed by the person that bought the parking permit. So you have at least 7 days, unless someone needs your space and purchases it with a parking permit, in which case you have 24 hours, give or take.
