We liveblogged today's Board of Supes meeting, in large part because the "motion rejecting the Municipal Transportation Agency's (MTA) proposed FY 2009-2010 budget" was...

The other energy company that I was talking about is EnXco, which is the US subsidiary of EdF Energies Nouvelles, the large French utility.
While their proposal may not have met the somewhat arbitrary specifications in the PUC's RFP, their project would have delivered renewable energy at a much lower price than Recurrent.

I find it hilarious (hilarious in this case being the "laugh otherwise you'll vomit" way) that "progressives" actually voted to give away a public resource to a private company AND lock in expensive power rates as well.
I mean, wtf?

@Chris Roberts: This is really, really good stuff. I plan on continuing reading this kind of transcripts. Thanks.

Have they vetoed the MTA budget yet? I agree with Supervisor Chiu ... raising fares, cutting service, and handing out money to other City departments without good reason is unacceptable for the people of San Francisco who depend on public transit to get around.

I certainly hope they reject the MTA budget and then get real. Walking all those precincts to oppose the "pothole" bonds would be tiresome.

high five to SFA for doing what apparently is too difficult for the Big Kids In Print can't do - do actual reporting of news on the scene on issues people care about.

Am I the only one amused that in the midst of all the tweets from Steve Jones, Greg Dewar, and Streetsblog - all on the MTA hearing, there is a tweet from Gavin - DURING the behind closed doors negotiations. A tweet on Obama's Healthcare plan....

Newsom decided this was such an important issue that Carmen Chu should handle it.
Ridiculous

Great job! And, never fear, I thought the TV analogy was too painful to resurrect.
As for the MTA - Chiu, Chu and Ford have negotiated some amendments and the Supes may give the newly amended budget the thumbs up here in a little bit.

@John Murphy: You've just exposed what we've all known for a while...Gavin ain't tweeting squat, it's some hipster staffer doing it for him. And yeah, he couldn't do the work himself he delegated it to Carmen Chu. WhatEVER.

@Greg Dewar - "Gavin Newsom" announced his run for governor on DailyKos. Down in the comments, "Gavin Newsom" commented on the thread, and signed the Comment "Theo Yadinsky". Oops.

Hold it. No one's reporting on the vote here. Wasn't it Chiu who switched to yes?

Hi Jim: There was no vote to reject the budget; Chiu's motion to do so was tabled, that coming after Muni agreed to change its budget. The vote to table the motion, however, was 6-5, Chiu voting aye with Alioto-Pier, Chu, Dufty, Elsberd, and Maxwell.

Anyone remember the four digit code for Nextbus at Muni stops? Those electronic signs don't tell you anything about it, or what the stop code number is.
