There's a beach on Angel Island where you can see the entire northeast coast of SF, from the Bay Bridge all the way to the Golden Gate. Definitely worth a visit.

Nah, San Franciscans would visit Napa rather than Marin. Other considerations would be "roughing it" in a cabin at Costanoa (Pescadero) or venturing far away (like Big Sur).

That last line was excellent, "home is the problem and its own solution: the reason we left and the reason we have to come back." I can vouch for this as I just returned home to San Francisco from a much-needed break in San Diego, only to find home just as problematic as it was before I left. Bleh! But I could never live anywhere else.
