Ok the fact that Seattle is at the top of this indicates BS. Seattle is one of the worst cities for traffic in the country, often times on a par with Los Angeles. Even with the improvements of Sound Transit, it's still one of the most difficult places to get around car or no car.
As for SF, well the fact that Muni has demonstrably slowed down every year for the last several years is but one example - I don't think Newsom's press guy has ever ridden Muni, nor do I believe he even knows what Muni is.

Aw, Greg! So far, our experiences with Tony have been very good (both when he was with PUC and now with his new job with Gavin), and I believe he rides Muni to work on the regular. Let's give him a chance!
