Cops in SF don't want Tasers. However, since none of the media outlets ask cops what they want, we have the Chief and the Commission debating a weapon for which there is no demand within the department.

You're assuming that cops are willing to (and/or won't get in trouble for) speak to media outlets on record, and that SFPD's public information office won't get totally pissed at any outlet that publishes unattributed sources.

If you know any cops who are willing to talk for attribution, great, hook us up!

I know they're not supposed to speak on their own....Chron had this for atrib: "38-year SFPD veteran Vince Repetto, who joined a contingent of officers waiting to speak in favor of Tasers, said before the meeting that the Taser proposal is literally "a life-or-death decision." But the Chron did not describe the proposed testimony of any o fthe "contingent", nor did it refer to the official position of the POA (at http://www.sfpoa.org/Journal/President-Message.asp?i=502)

I've been tasered.

You're not going to get any officers to speak on the record, especially to any media.

Those that I personally know want Tasers and they also want the nanny laws that have hamstrung them removed.

I would like the "old SF values" back as well.
