The net idea is ridiculous. Now we'll just have more people throwing themselves on the tracks in front of BART/Muni/Caltrain. Or maybe they'll put nets all along the tracks now, too? Where there's a will, there's a way. I've always thought a diving board at mid-span would be more efficient.
As for the $3 fare, I cross the GGB a few times a month with a passenger in the car, and never realized I could go free in a carpool lane. So I've been paying via Fastrak all this time like a damn fool. I guess the joke's on me.
