A high surf advisory is in effect for the Bay Area coast as of this morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory is scheduled to be in effect between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. today due to a forecast of swells of up to 15 feet between Sonoma and Monterey counties.

The forecast high surf and high tide do not appear to be great enough to cause flooding, but the conditions will likely cause rip currents and localized beach erosion, according to the National Weather Service.
